Powell Craft

Powell Craft make the most lovely vintage-y clothes for little boys and girls.

I'm particularly fond of the vintage aeroplane design which comes in pyjamas, jumpsuits, baby grows, dungarees, hats, wellies and who knows what else.

They also do Daddy sized pyjamas in this print, as I discovered to my delight last Father's day (although my little boy was a little surprised to see his dad wearing his pyjamas.)

Powell Craft even do lovely stuffed toys such as this mouse that my little girl took an instant liking too:

Powell Craft have a website here but they don't sell directly to the public. There's lots of stuff on ebay, but we use a lovely local company happy days who will order stuff in for us from the Powell Craft catalogue if not in stock.

Kindred Spirit

I was very excited to see that this month's edition of cult Japanese magazine Free & Easy is dedicated to Dad's Style.

I've ordered my copy and will report back.

The magazine is available in the UK from Superdenim

Diono Buggy Buddy

The Man Bag issue is fraught enough without the added complication of pushing a pram. you could borrow your partner's yummy mummy bag and hide it underneath the pram, but it's a pain having to yank it out to answer the phone, find your bus pass etc.

So I was very excited when my wife brought home the Diono Buggy Buddy Stroller Organiser (to give it's full rather grand name). It's a kind of mini-bag that straps onto the handle of the pram, and features a shallowish zip pocket, insulated drinks holders and a nicely sized central compartment - certainly enough room for my phone, wallet, keys, a couple of bottles, snacks and toys.

It won't remove the need for a changing bag but at least you can get yourself a bit more organised.

The organiser is available from all the usual kids outlets.

Inane fact of the day: It seems Diono is just the manufacturer's trading name and its full name is the anther more wonderful Sunshine Kids Juvenile Products Limited. It sounds like somewhere Reggie Perrin would have worked.

Welcome

Welcome to my new blog, many years in the planning, but rather like fatherhood, it all came upon me quite suddenly. What is this blog about? Daddy stuff obviously, and cool stuff for the kids, but also hopefully an examination of what fatherhood means in these strange times we live in.
